Freedom of Information Act & the HFA

Making an FOI request

Requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act must be made in writing and should indicate that the information is being sought under the Freedom of Information Act.

If information is desired in a particular form (such as a photocopy, computer disk etc.) this should be specified in the application. Requests should be as specific as possible to enable the information sought to be identified.

An application form has been devised to facilitate the making of requests.

Assistance in making requests
Information on the records accessible under the FOI Act and on the records held by the HFA are outlined in our FOI Section 15 Reference Book.

If difficulty is experienced in identifying the records required, the FOI Officer, Mr. Seán Cremen, will be happy to assist the requester in the formulation of the request.
